Artist Performance Certificate Program
The artist performance certificate is a one-year, part-time program designed for students with undergraduate degrees in music to focus on further developing their artistry and career in instrumental music performance.
During this non-degree program, students will receive enhanced professional development with a specific focus on individual studies in performance and career development for professional and/or graduate opportunities.
Faculty-student collaborations will supplement applied lessons and chamber music coaching to help students develop professionalism and gain first-hand experience in working with professional musicians, gaining valuable insights into the interpersonal and administrative skills essential to achieving artistic excellence and maintaining respectful collaborative environments.
Curriculum
The artist performance certificate is a two-semester program compiled of 12 credit hours (6 credits per semester). Students may start this program in the fall or spring. The following sequence is completed each semester:
- Primary Instrument: Private Lessons (4 credits)
- Chamber Music (1 credit)
- Recital (1 credit)
Apply for Admission
The artist performance certificate program is a post-baccalaureate program for students who already earned a bachelor's degree in music or music education from a regionally accredited institution.

Audition
An audition is required for admission to this certificate program. Candidates may request a live audition or upload a recorded audition. *Current BW students may use juried experience to meet audition requirement.
