BW's management and innovation program is a dynamic major that prepares you for today's ever-changing business environment. You'll learn effective techniques for managing people and producing organizational efficiency through leadership, project management and strategic planning.

Well-respected among business professionals, BW's management and innovation program combines theoretical knowledge and experiential opportunities. You'll learn from faculty who are scholars and practitioners. They'll share professional insights derived from decades of corporate, government and nonprofit experience.

CURRICULUM

A comprehensive program, management and innovation is offered as a major and minor. It combines strong theoretical knowledge with dynamic experiential learning to give you insights, strategies and professional practices you can readily apply to real-world situations.

The management and innovation major prepares students to:

  • Recall business terms, concepts, and principals and effectively communicate these, through both oral and written means, using the language of business
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze information and produce improved business decisions and generate effective recommendations for better course of action or opportunity for improvement
  • Demonstrate relevant application of business knowledge
  • Exhibit high standards of ethical awareness and conduct and recognize ethical issues businesses/people face in today's world
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the core management concepts in the context of modern organizations
  • Analyze management problems using tools, techniques, and theory commonly used by management professionals

Leveraging a comprehensive marketing curriculum and internships, he specializes in search engine optimization and works with clients in higher education. Martina OlekslakMartina Oleksiak '15 is international business process analyst at Vitamix Corporation in North Olmsted, Ohio. Studying management has given the Nienburg, Germany, native the knowledge to contribute to discussions at various levels. She is pursuing a Master of Professional Studies at Fort Hays State University.

The ongoing support of BW Career Services has been key to his post-graduation success, enabling him to interview with confidence for a wide range of positions in the field. Steven is from Euclid, Ohio.
